The Ben’s Cycle/Milwaukee Bicycle Co Cycling Team opened its Wisconsin Off-Road (WORS) mountain bike season Sunday at Iola.
The Ben’s/MBC Cycling Team partners with Ben’s Cycle in Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Bicycle Co. brand of bicycles, including the Grit and Feral mountain bikes, Milwaukee Brewing Co., Valentine Coffee, WMSE Radio, and August Social Media.
A Ben’s/MBC Cycling Team Family Affair
The Kid – Arielle Christensen – took top spot in her WORS age group, while her sister, Danielle, new to WORS this year, stood on the podium! Their mother, Beth, tried out a WORS race for the first time and finished! And Dennis, the father, finished his first Sport category race, up from Citizens last year!
Ben’s/MBC Cycling Team Lands Way, Boehm on Iola Podiums
Chip Way and Wendy Boehm both took second in their Iola races, Chip in his Sport class and Wendy in the women’s Open.
Rick Walls finished mid-pack in his Comp category. Sam Adams finished well in his Sport Category.
WORS racers start in the Citizens category, move up to Sport, then Comp, then Elite/Pro.
Ben’s/MBC Cycling Team Starts Season at WEMS, Barry Roubaix
Rick Walls and Vicki Pink traveled to Hastings, Michigan in April to contest the famous Barry-Roubaix gravel race. Both finished after strong efforts!
Chris St. Clair and Angie Therriault did the Wild Ride Buzzard Buster Wisconsin Endurance Mountain Bike Series (WEMS) race in Hatfield. Chris finished 13th and Angie 6th in the six-hour race.
